Hi Friend

“I know nothing. I’m just sitting here, looking at pretty colours” (Mother by Idles)

“But what is your art?”, they ask. “What kind?” I never understood the question, and still don’t know the answer. Always feeling like I came unprepared for an exam I didn’t know I have to take. Would my labels and descriptions of motifs and intentions really make you feel something? How about simply looking… or rather, SEEING and asking yourself “what does this bring up in me?” Let’s practice seeing together, outward & in, and always and forever, “with eyes unclouded by hate” (from Princess Mononoke<3). And later we can talk over coffee about the state of the world today, ancient gods trapped in 21st century women’s bodies, heartbreak and mice.

All this is pure meditation. An extension of my soul. A way of being with myself without having to try too hard. A language for feelings and experiences that words fail to grasp. An answer to questions I’m too scared to ask. A safe space away from chaos that feels like a blanket AND pillow fort combined. And it’s deeply personal, and very chalant and it helps me process the world around me and that’s how I look like on the inside.

In my art I make sense.

In my art I belong.

In my art I am free.

Big Love & Good Luck
